How to get a permit to stock more?
Delhi
You can apply for L-30 to keep foreign liquor including wine/beer in excess of 18 liters at your residence for consumption by the individual who is applying, his family members/guests. The fee for the license is ₹10,00 for three years and ₹20,000 for five years.
Haryana
You can apply for L-50 on payment of a license fee of ₹1500 per year or a lifetime on payment of a license fee of ₹20,000.
One day Permit --> ₹500
UP
According to UP Excise officials, there is no license to stock more liquor than the permissible limit.
One day permit --> ₹4,000 for a non-commercial private place
States
The Excise policy is for the benefit of the public and for the prevention of illegal sale and possession of liquor and tax evasion. But, as it is a state subject, states have arbitrarily and an unresponsible manner fixed the amount and the specification of liquor to be possessed by an individual and there is a huge gap between specifications of different states which is quite illogical.
What if you get caught?
Delhi
As per Section 33 of the Delhi Excise Act, 2009, a penalty of unlawful possession is imprisonment of not less than six months, which may extend to three years, and a fine not less than ₹50,000, which may extend to ₹1,00,000.
Haryana
According to the Punjab Excise Act 1914, the imprisonment may extend to two years and fine up to ₹2000.
UP
According to UP Intoxicant Prohibition Act, 1910, the imprisonment can extend to two years and fine up to ₹1000.
