India demolishes Canada 5-1 in men's World Cup in Bhubaneswar. Tops in Pool C. Through to quarters. For a better part of the first three quarters, Indian's performance bordered around mediocrity. The finishing touches in the striking circle just weren't there, they played into the Canada, who slowed down the pace of the game, and not to forget the unforced errors which pegged them down.
Golf
Shubhankar Sharma, 22, became the youngest Indian to clinch the Asian Tour Order of Merit after a groundbreaking year of achievement. He won it even before the finish of the two events of the 2018 session.
After finishing the sixth at the Hong Kong Open, which was his 11th start in a row and 15th in 16 weeks from the Open de France in June-July, Sharma skipped the Queen's Cup, Mauritius Open and the South African Open, despite a late challenge being mounted by South African Justin Harding.
Sharma became the fifth and the youngest Indian to win the Asian Tour Order of Merit.
Cricket
MP opener Ajay Rohera, 21, on Saturday created the World record for the highest first-class debut score as he hit an unbeaten 267 against Hyderabad in their Ranji Trophy game in Indore.
He etched his name in the record books by slamming the highest first-class score in debut.
Courtesy Rohera's 345 ball knock, which comprised 21 fours and 5 sixes, MP declared their first innings at a mammoth 562/4 in response to Hyderabad's first inning score of 124.
